There’s no better combination than walnut with a touch of cajeta. This cajeta and walnut ring gelatin is the ideal recipe to surprise a fan of cajeta with walnut with a different and original dessert.

Ingredients
  • 1 bag of D’Gari® Walnut Flavored Gelatin
  • 4 packets of D’Gari® Gelatin
  • 2 cups of cajeta (Mexican caramel sauce)
  • 8 cups of milk
  • 2 cups of chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup of whipped cream

For garnish:

  • Cajeta, to taste
  • Whipped cream
  • Whole walnuts
Directions

1

Use a 22-centimeter diameter ring mold. Grease and set aside.

2

Prepare the D’Gari Walnut Flavored Gelatin according to the package instructions. Pour it into the mold, and refrigerate until it semi-sets.

3

Soak the D’GariGelatin for 5 minutes in 1 cup of milk, then melt it in the microwave for 10 seconds or in a double boiler until it is liquid. Set aside.

4

Heat the remaining milk and pour the cajeta in a thin stream, dissolving it thoroughly. Add the previously melted D’Gari Gelatin with the milk and mix in the chopped walnuts. Pour carefully into the mold and refrigerate until fully set.

5

Unmold and decorate with whipped cream, walnuts, and serve with cajeta in the center.

Tips from D’Gari

You can find cajeta, a Mexican caramel sauce, in many specialty or gourmet stores in the United States. Additionally, it may be available in some international or Latin American grocery stores. Online retailers can also provide a convenient option for purchasing cajeta and having it delivered to your doorstep.
